Another Turtle!

I found an old canvas that had a painting I'd abandoned when it just wasn't working. So I painted/gessoed over it, and had a do-over, creating a mixed media collage of a sea turtle.
In addition to the usual ephemera, I included packing materials, safety glass, chips of abalone shell, and handmade paper. My goal in doing these is to "loosen up" my illustrative style...not becoming completely abstract, but veering from strict realism. In addition, acrylics, pan pastels and alcohol ink are used for spot color.
Now it's in a almost-but-not-quite-done phase during which I'll view it for a week or two to see if it is in fact complete. This last phase always helps me view the work objectively.

It is 12" x 12" on stretched canvas with 1-1/2" museum wrap (painted on 5 sides).
